Europe – A Sound Panorama [ZKM, Karlsruhe]

‘Three Impressions’, a sound piece based on underwater field recordings made in the canals of The Hague, Netherlands, has been awarded in the competition ‘Europa – Ein Klangpanorama‘ organized by the Goethe Institute of Belgrade, Deutschlandradio Kultur, Radio Belgrade, the European Broadcasting Union’s (EBU) Ars Acustica Group, the Institute for Music and Sound at the Centre for Art and Media Technology in Karlsruhe (ZKM) and Götz Naleppa.

The project brought me for one week (17-23 Oct) to ZKM´s Kubus in Karlsruhe, Germany, where together with other nine sound artists I participated in a workshop led by Thomas Köner, with the challenge of creating together an ‘European Sound Panorama’.

This intensive week culminated in a double concert at the Klangdom, a high tech spatialization system developed at ZKM. The event featured our individual pieces and a group live performance developed during the week.

This concert was part of the program of the festival AudioCulture including a few other events celebrated during those days.

Participants: La Cosa Preziosa (Susanna Caprara), Katrinem (Katrin Emler), Francesco Giomi, Konrad Korabiewski, Stefan Maleševich, Etienne Noiseau, Tamer Fahri Özgönen, Softday (Mikael Fernstroem & Sean Taylor), and Ladislav Železný.

Preview podcast at Goethe-Institut.
